The clients' desire was to increase the living spaces by incorporating the veranda on the floor, which was underutilized since there was already a large garden, and to create a studio in addition to the two bedrooms.
This created an opportunity to rearrange the space layout, separating the sleeping and living areas by making the most of natural light. What was once the dining room became the master bedroom, and the small kitchen was transformed into a private bathroom and a charming little veranda.
The living area consists of two well-defined zones, yet connected through a series of arches that direct the view toward the garden on the ground floor.
I clienti desideravano ampliare gli ambienti della casa inglobando la veranda a piano che era poco sfruttata in quanto già presente un grande giardino e ricavare uno studio oltre alle due camere da letto.
Questa è stata l’occasione per riorganizzare la distribuzione degli spazi, separando la zona notte e la zona giorno sfruttando al massimo la luce del sole. Quella che era una volta la sala da pranzo è diventata la camera da letto padronale e il cucinino è diventato un bagno privato e una piccola ma graziosa veranda.
La zona giorno è composta da due zone ben delimitate ma in connessione tra loro tramite una progressione di archi che proiettano la vista verso il giardino al piano terra.
The kitchen stands out with a bold color that is beautifully softened by the warm tones of oak parquet, while natural light creates a play of color shades throughout the different hours of the day.
La cucina irrompe con un colore deciso che è ben attenuato dai toni caldi del parquet in rovere, mentre la luce naturale attiva un gioco di sfumature di colore durante le diverse ore del giorno.
The high openings frame slices of sky to enhance the height of the spaces. The sinuous shapes soften the tones, while the laying of the Italian herringbone parquet adds a sense of movement.
Le aperture in alto incorniciano spicchi di cielo per valorizzare l’altezza degli ambienti.
La sinuosità delle forme ammorbidisce i toni e la posa del parquet a spina italiana crea movimento.
The kitchen features a well-balanced yet functional layout. The sink is placed to the side and behind the tall units, keeping it somewhat discreet.
La cucina ha una composizione ben equilibrata ed al contempo operativa. Il lavandino è posizionato al lato e dietro le colonne in modo da restare un po’ nascosto.
Two long shelves set the scene for a stylish kitchen, where a family portrait is displayed alongside white porcelain. Sunlight highlights shapes and brings out volumes.
Due lunghe mensole creano la scenografia per una cucina di stile, dove esporre un quadro di famiglia, accanto alle porcellane bianche. La luce del sole enfatizza le forme e risalta i volumi.
Everything in its place: was found the perfect spot to display the antiques dear to the family.
Ogni cosa al suo posto: è stato individuato il posto adatto dove collocare i pezzi di antiquariato a cui la famiglia è affezionata.
The niche mirrors the door frames and hides the cooling equipment and various system components inside. The small fireplace where children gather to read stories is clad in Moleanos marble and includes a compartment for storing firewood.
La nicchia riprende le cornici delle porte e al suo interno si nascondono i macchinari per il raffrescamento e vari componenti impiantistici.
Il piccolo camino dove i bambini si ritrovano per leggere le favole, rivestito in marmo Moleanos, ha un vano per riporre la legna.
